Data thread on zkSync Era's first two weeks showing hype driven by airdrop hopes: wallet and TVL numbers, shallow bridging behavior and activity distribution, plus the dominant dApps. Questions how sustainable the activity is.

let's have a closer look at some user & adoption metrics 馃搳馃攳

likely fueled by the anticipation of an $ARB style airdrop, @zksync has experienced a considerable hype since launch with over 335k wallets depositing >94k $ETH onto the zk-rollup
unsurprisingly, this shows in the TVL which already amounts to over USD 160m
impressive, especially compared to the only other zkEVM competitor that is already on mainnet as well (@0xPolygon), that currently has a TVL of USD 1.1m
however, keep in mind that @0xPolygon zkEVM will not have a new token and is secured/governed by $MATIC
as we have seen with @optimismFND and @arbitrum, airdrops tend to be BIG drivers for user activity & adoption
it remains to be seen though, how sustainable this activity is
that there probably is a large number of airdrop farmers among the @zksync early adopters is also indicated by some bridging stats

most users (90%) have only used the @zksync bridge on one day
an additional 8.1% were active on two days
only 1.9% of users have regularly used the bridge so far
if we look at transaction activity, we see that 58.3% of users have made less than 10 transactions so far (measured by wallet nonce)
28% have made 10-100 transactions and 13.7% are actual power-users with >100 transactions in two weeks
in terms of ecosystem, users can use a variety of dApps on @zksync already ranging from DEXes & lending to derivatives
