Composable MANTIS: cross-chain MEV and intent settlement across IBC chains
Thread883 words
Argues Composable's MANTIS can be a cross-chain orderflow layer: intents are executed by solvers, bundles auctioned to searchers in multi-domain block auctions with cross-domain PBS, funding a pay-for-orderflow model. Expects cross-chain arbitrage to overtake DEX-CEX arbitrage.
Key claims
Cross-chain MEV expected to overtake DEX-CEX arbitrage
Cross-domain PBS splits roles into searchers, builders and proposers
Composable L1 secured by asset-agnostic restaking through Picasso
The year is 2025
User intents expressed as text through AA wallets & executed by AI-powered solvers across a unified backend of IBC-enabled chains
Scalable, modular L2s running on Shared Sequencers & MEV-resistant block builders secured by restaking
Alpha-🧵
1/ To be make it in crypto you need to constantly stay on top of the key narratives and find the plays that bring solutions to the market that will find real adoption
This can be hard considering the complexity of the tech and that's why you need to DYOR.
2/ Today, I want to introduce you to a game-changer in the modular infrastructure space that merges...
✦ Cross-chain Intents
✦ IBC-powered Interoperability
✦ MEV Optimization
✦ Asset-agnostic Restaking
✦ Modular Infrastructure
...into one major alpha play! 🤯
3/ X-chain MEV is becoming an increasingly important opportunity to explore as we go multichain.
That's why @ComposableFin is building chain-agnostic intent settlement infra that can serve as a decentralized, MEV-aware block building layer for L1s & L2s.
This is BIG anon!
4/ Cross-chain MEV occurs when block producers prioritize or manipulate the order of cross-chain transactions or contract interactions to extract value from a blockchain.
This includes cross-chain arbitrage, but also negative externalities that can damage the parties involved.
5/ I expect cross-chain MEV, so basically arbitrage across chains, to overtake DEX-CEX arb soon. It bears enormous potential!
Mainly driven by:
✦ Growth of on-chain economy
✦ Increasing number of chains
✦ Improving interoperability tech
✦ Growing cross-chain DeFi ecosystem
6/ With MANTIS, a cross-chain intent settlement infrastructure layer built on @ComposableFin, cross-chain composability becomes a reality (see thread linked below).
However, this also gives rise to cross-chain MEV. Composable is optimized to handle this.

7/ Transaction bundles resulting from cross-chain intent execution powered by IBC are exposed to Searchers and auctioned off in multi-domain block auctions.
Blocks are then relayed to the involved ecosystems for execution in the according to the logic of the corresponding VM.
8/ This essentially allows @ComposableFin to introduce a Robinhood-style Pay-for-Orderflow (PFOF) model powered by cross-chain MEV.
This will enable Composable to reach mass adoption as a core piece of infrastructure in a multi-chain future.
9/ It also introduces a cross-domain implementation of Propose-Builder-Separation (PBS), in which:
✦ Searchers can condition their search within blocks
✦ Block builders facilitate mempool matching across domains
✦ Proposers provide commitments (execution guarantees)
10/ Thereby, @ComposableFin becomes a decentralized, chain-agnostic block building layer that optimizes cross-chain MEV extraction.
This enables MEV-aware x-chain composability across any IBC-enabled ecosystem (with IBC conenctions secured by restaking through @Picasso_Network).
11/ With this infrastructure, @ComposableFin has the potential to heavily disrupt Web3 UX.
Are you ready for chain-agnostic, text-based intent expression, anon?

12/ Additionally, the multi-domain block auctions optimize value across blockchains, aligning incentives for a more efficient ecosystem.
Thereby, and by covering user fees through MEV, MANTIS bears the potential to significantly reduce cost for users and improve overall UX.
13/ This positions @ComposableFin within the modular ecosystem as what can become an orderflow abstraction layer for rollups
Composable can support a wide array of networks, including rollups, providing a set of valuable services!
This is big! 🤯
14/ ⚙️ Rollups export Mempool to Composable
Rollups can provide pre-confirmations & export their mempools to Composable’s chain-agnostic orderflow layer.
By exporting their mempools to Composable, rollups can leverage Composable’s network to run order flow auctions efficiently.
15/ 💸 Shared Sequencer & Orderflow Auctions
@ComposableFin can act as a shared sequencer for rollups conducting orderflow auctions for the rollups it serves.
Alternatively, shared sequencers can plug into Composable to manage order flow & participate in block auctions (PBS).
16/ 🌐 Cross-Domain PBS Integration
Composable provides rollup a plug-and-play integration to a cross-domain PBS design that not only improves MEV extraction but also bolsters the decentralization and security of their networks.
17/ 💧 Liquid Staking Tokens and Value Accrual
Composable can collaborate with rollup teams to introduce liquid staking tokens that accrue value from the integrated orderflow auctions and overall transaction processing enhancements brought by Composable.
18/ 🤑 Distribution of Value Accrual to Users
Users of the rollup, by virtue of participating in the network, could receive a share of the profits generated from the orderflow auctions and other Composable-enabled enhancements.
19/ By adding economic inclusion guarantees and taking over the risk of non-execution of atomic transactions (if that is the user intent), @ComposableFin's solver infrastructure can also improve cross-rollup composability, improving on the atomicity enabled by shared sequencers.
20/ 💎 Bonus Alpha
Composable's L1 chain that enables all of this will be secured through asset-agnostic restaking through @Picasso_Network. ✨
21/ Don't fade this kind of infrastructure innovation and DYOR anon! 👀
We're still early in this cycle and if you DYOR now, you can position yourself for life-changing gains!
