ALLO tokenomics and yapper reward napkin maths
Quote559 words
Assumes 1% of supply to Kaito and 0.75% to yappers, with a $500M-$1B TGE valuation, giving a $3.75M-$7.5M pool. Compares proportional and tiered payouts, benchmarking against Chainlink ($17.6B FDV) and Bittensor ($8.7B).
Key claims
Pool of $3.75M-$7.5M at $500M-$1B valuation
0.1% mindshare worth $3,750-$7,500 under proportional split
Raised $33.5M from VCs including Slow, Blockchain Capital and Archetype
Some (heavily assumption-based) napkin maths for $ALLO yappers:
The total supply % allocated to yappers has not been disclosed yet, and no official $ALLO TGE announced (should happen soon tho).
I also expect @AlloraNetwork to reward yappers quite heavily.
But before we dive into that, let's have a look at what we do already know around the $ALLO tokenomics:
➤ Pay-What-You-Want (PWYW):
Users set their own fees for AI inferences - flexible pricing but zero fees = zero topic weight = no participant rewards (emissions redistribute to active topics)
➤ Supply & Emissions:
Bitcoin-like halving schedule with decreasing emissions over time
Stable APY maintained during unlock periods to minimize sell pressure
Finite supply framework ensuring long-term value
➤ Core Utility:
- Purchase AI model inferences from the network
- Create new topics or pay registration fees as workers/reputers
- Stake as reputer/validator or delegate to earn rewards
➤ Reward System:
- Emissions distributed to stakers, validators, and active participants
- Topic rewards proportional to fee activity (market-driven sustainability)
- Delegation rewards for passive token holders
➤ Economic Design:
Self-regulating ecosystem where unprofitable topics naturally phase out, driving efficient price discovery and resource allocation across the network
Now back to the yappers:
We assume 1% of total supply (like Union or Anoma), with 0.75% allocated to yapper/LB rewards and 0.25% for broader Kaito ecosystem (stakers + NFT holders).
Allora was inspired by Chainlink and Bittensor, combining the notions of high quality data feeds, and open machine learning, it pioneers a narrowly focused approach to open, algorithmic innovation, specifically geared towards predictive intelligence (e.g. price forecasting).
Chainlink sits at a $17.6B FDV, with Bittensor at $8.7B. Admittedly though, it's not realistic to assume that Allora will compete on these levels right out of the gates.
However, the tokenomics are sound imo, and it does have pretty decent, as well as rapidly growing traction with its predictive price feeds among integrators (especially in the DeFAI/agent space). It has also successfully identified a high-potential niche, in which it can outperform.
The fact that it raised $33.5M from VCs like Slow Ventures, Blockchain Capital, CoinFund, Archetype or Framework Ventures, also implies that their recent venture rounds have been raised at 9 figure valuations already.
Assuming a TGE valuation of $500M-$1B is not outlandish, which in terms of yapper rewards would mean $3.75M - $7.5M up for grabs (given 0.75% in rewards assumption holds).
Now lets look at two potential distribution scenarios for $ALLO:
- Purely Proportional Model:
In a purely proportional distribution, your 0.1% mindshare translates directly to 0.1% of the reward pool. With a $3.75M-$7.5M total pool (0.75% of $500M-$1B FDV), this means you would receive $3,750-$7,500 per 0.1% in mindshare. This model rewards consistent engagement across all participants, ensuring everyone gets their fair share based solely on their contribution to the ecosystem.
- Tiered Leaderboard Model:
The top 500 leaderboard approach concentrates rewards heavily toward higher ranks. Top 100 performers could see 2-4x their proportional share, earning $7,500-$15,000 even with just 0.1% mindshare. Ranks 100-250 would receive near-proportional payouts of $3,000-$6,000, while positions 251-500 face significant dilution at $750-$1,500. This structure incentivizes competitive performance and rewards excellence, as moving up even 50 ranks can double or triple your allocation.
Regardless of the exact model though, I'm pretty sure $ALLO will cook for yappers. So I'll keep yapping. gML.
$ALLO is (very) close
