Breakdown31 Aug 2024Sonic vs Monad: >10,000 TPS EVM and a non-VC token31-part thread on Sonic, a >10,000 TPS EVM chain with an almost fully diluted token, set against VC-heavy low float launches. Covers the 190.5M S airdrop, Sonic Gems, 3.5% block rewards, gas monetization and Andre Cronje as CTO.Thesis02 Sep 2024Why Sonic (S) differs from VC coins: 88% circulating, low inflation tokenomicsCompares S tokenomics to VC-backed tokens: 3,175M max FTM supply with 88% circulating, a 3.5% target block reward without new inflation for four years, then roughly 1.75% annual inflation. Notes governance-approved mints of up to 6% for airdrops and 1.5% per year for ecosystem growth.Breakdown18 May 2024Fantom Sonic Network: new $S token, parallel FVM and L2-style bridgeWalks through the Fantom Sonic announcement: a new L1 with token S, 1:1 FTM migration pending governance, a native L2-style bridge to Ethereum, parallelization of the FVM and a shared sequencer role. Notes zk-SNARK verification is still more expensive than execution for simple transactions.

08 Jun 2025Why Monad risks disappointing against faster-shipping high-performance chainsArgues Monad's long delay let rivals catch up: Sei at about 200k TPS, MegaETH at 100k TPS with sub-10ms blocks, Hyperliquid at 200k orders per second, plus Fuel and RISE. Having raised at billion-dollar valuations, Monad risks disappointment despite its community.Market takeL1/L243 likes

16 Oct 2024Sonic gas fee monetization: up to 90% of fees back to appsArgues sharing L1 gas fee revenue with apps is needed for sustainable monolithic ecosystems, or apps will move to appchains. Sonic gives up to 90% of fees to builders, with 320ms testnet finality.ThesisL1/L268 likes

14 Oct 2024FTM to $1 before Sonic mainnet: the bull caseBullish case for FTM reaching $1 before Sonic mainnet: no VC unlocks, 320ms testnet finality, over 65 TPS, gas monetization up to 90% and an existing app ecosystem. Includes a price prediction.ThesisL1/L224 likes

25 Sep 2024FTM above $0.7 ahead of Sonic mainnet and S token migrationNotes FTM trading above $0.7 and lists the catalysts the author sees for the Sonic migration: no predatory VC tokenomics, high-performance EVM, sub-second finality, native credit scores and gas monetization.Market takeL1/L2DeFi87 likes

23 Sep 2024Sonic testnet stats and tokenomics case for SArgues Sonic is attractive on testnet performance (0.41s block time, 0.76s finality) and clean tokenomics: investor unlocks done, near fully diluted supply and low inflation once migrated Opera rewards are used.ThesisL1/L2111 likes

18 Sep 2024How to position for S: FTM bag, Sonic testnet and first NFT mintLays out three ways to position for Sonic's S token and why S could be a Q4 runner: clean tokenomics, a high-performance EVM and Cronje's DeFi primitives, at a $1.8B FDV.ThesisL1/L2DeFi110 likes
