Explains Eclipse as a customizable modular rollup platform (SVM first) with L3 app-chains settling on an Eclipse L2, then surveys early builders including Nautilus, Injective Cascade and a Polygon SVM rollup. Details Cascade's two interchain security constructions.

Key claims
Nautilus deployment capable of more than 2,000 TPS
Eclipse has support from more than 50 protocols
DA volume can range from 10 to 17 GB per day
0/ We still haven't solved scalability. The fastest chains today can’t accommodate the throughput web2 apps need. We're missing a way to take the best parts of every ecosystem & build custom app chains without worrying about security. @EclipseFND will change this 🚀 🧵 (0/41) 1/ But what is @EclipseFND? In a nutshell, @EclipseFND lets you build customizable, modular rollups using your VM of choice on any chain. While the focus is on Solana's SVM initially, they will even support MoveVM down the line. 2/ In other words, @EclipseFND is a fully-configurable and composable infrastructure platform that enables you to build fully customized and blazing fast execution layers. 3/ @EclipseFND is a fully modular solution. What does that mean? @EclipseFND separates: 🔹 Execution 🔹 Settlement 🔹 DA & Consensus 4/ More specifically, @EclipseFND let's you build L3 app-chains that: 🔹 Settle on the @EclipseFND settlement rollup (L2) 🔹 Use L1 for DA & consensus The fact that the settlement rollup is IBC-enabled, also allows for inter-chain interoperability with @cosmos L1s. 5/ The choice of L1 is somewhat flexible as long as it can handle the volume of data availability which can range from 10–17 gigabytes per day. And since the solution is fully modular, projects can also opt for different settlement layers. 6/ However, the focus in this thread does not lie on the technical architecture. Rather, I want to introduce you to some of the pioneering projects that build on @EclipseFND. 7/ Even though still in an early stage, @EclipseFND has already gathered the support of more than 50 protocols ready to deploy to Eclipse. So let's have a look at some of the pioneering projects 👇 8/ @nautilus_chain @nautilus_chain utilizes some of the most cutting-edge features of Eclipse to provide a high throughput zk-EVM rollup. 9/ It features some high-profile applications as well, such as @Zebec_HQ, a payments streaming protocol, which will be among the first deployments on @nautilus_chain, bringing over its 20,000 daily active users. 10/ Other dApps include Poseidon Swap (DEX), Questbook (decentralized university), in addition to 80+ others according to the Nautilus team. 11/ Thanks to its @Neon_EVM integration, the @nautilus_chain is able to execute EVM bytecode, while using the Sealevel virtual machine (SVM) for unparalleled scalability underneath. 12/ @Neon_EVM utilizes proxy nodes to relay EVM transactions to the SVM, where an EVM bytecode interpreter called Sputnik VM executes the EVM transaction. The EVM state is stored in SVM accounts to maximize SVM parallelism. Celestia provides data availability for the chain. 13/ As a result, users get the convenience of EVM wallets and tooling while benefiting from the speed of the SVM. @nautilus_chain settles on the @EclipseFND settlement rollup through an optimistic fraud proof mechanism. This deployment is capable of more than 2,000 TPS. 14/ Cascade by @Injective_ @Injective_ is another high-profile project building on @EclipseFND. In a nutshell, Cascade is a Solana Sealevel VM (SVM) rollup optimized for the IBC ecosystem. 15/ This means that projects built for @solana can easily deploy to Cascade, bringing new smart contract capabilities into the @Injective_ ecosystem. Additionally, projects on Injective can leverage Cascade's parallel transaction execution thanks to SVM. 16/ @Injective_’s Cascade chain has two standout features: 🔹 It's an SVM rollup, bringing the throughput & speed of @solana to the @cosmos ecosystem. 🔹 It's he first-ever example of interchain security (ICS) being leveraged for rollups. 17/ The testnet beta phase of Cascade relies on a SVM sequencer run by the Eclipse team. This sequencer receives transactions from @solana wallets and smart contract deployments on Cascade. Blocks produced by this sequencer are subsequently posted to a data availability layer. 18/ Under the hood, Injective plans to utilize Celestia as its data availability provider in order to further increase throughput. Settlement powered by @Injective_, will finally ensure the sequencer executes transactions correctly and provide hard finality guarantees. 19/ The @EclipseFND team has received a grant from the Solana Foundation for implementing inter-blockchain communication (IBC) for the SVM. Thanks to this, Eclipse chains can be used for interchain security (ICS). 20/ There are two possible constructions for the @Injective_ SVM rollup to participate in interchain security with the Injective Hub 👇 21/ 1️⃣ Cascade’s operator (Eclipse) provides ICS for the @Injective_ Hub. This means that if the Eclipse-managed sequencer misbehaves, the Injective Hub can slash the @EclipseFND operator. 22/ 2️⃣ The @Injective_ Hub provides ICS for Cascade. The stake on the Injective can allows for sequencers decentralization. In this case, if an Injective validator misbehaves & executes a Cascade transaction incorrectly, then the Injective validator's stake will be slashed. 23/ @0xPolygon SVM The @0xPolygon SVM rollup will further extend the infrastructure toolbox that Polygon provides its builders with. The customized rollup will run alongside other Polygon initiatives such as the zkEVM, thus expanding the choice of virtual machines for devs. 24/ Additionally, Eclipse’s optimistic (and eventually zero-knowledge) rollups enable projects to spin up their own unique app chains while using the security provided by Polygon chains that provide data availability & consensus. 25/ @WorldsOrg Backed by @polychain, @WorldsOrg is building a first-person shooter game and a range of gaming infrastructure. Using the @EclipseFND framework, @WorldsOrg is building its own parallelized EVM rollup, using Celestia as a base layer for data availability. 26/ Similar to @nautilus_chain, Worlds’ rollup leverages @Neon_EVM to execute EVM bytecode, while using the Sealevel virtual machine (SVM) underneath (enabling parallelism). 27/ Once a block of transactions is executed, it is posted to Celestia for data availability. As a result, users get the convenience of EVM wallets and tooling while benefiting from the speed of the SVM and the low cost @CelestiaOrg's modular DA layer provides. 28/ @WyndNetwork Another project building on top of @EclipseFND is Wynd Network, which is building the first platform to democratize bandwidth. This platform will allow users to earn passive income by monetizing their view of the internet. 29/ Like @WorldsOrg, this rollup will be built using SVM, while leveraging @Neon_EVM for EVM compatibility and @CelestiaOrg for DA. 30/ @Illuminet by @PluralEnergy Plural Energy is building a decentralized physical infrastructure network. The shared vision with @EclipseFND for Illuminet is to foster a new level of trust and transparency in clean energy production.
