Mangata Master-Rollup on EigenLayer: omni-chain AMM and MGX airdrop play
Thread1,082 words
Explains Mangata's Master-Rollup, a ZK rollup settled via EigenLayer that serves multiple L1s with RollDown dispute logic, and pitches holding MGX for the confirmed MGA airdrop.
Key claims
RollDown security needs only one honest sequencer
MGX market cap was under USD 800K
MGA airdrop allocation of 0.5% to 3% of supply to MGX holders
Soon @eigencloud season is upon us.
It will be one of the main narratives in 2024.
In 100s of hours of research, I have identified a true ALPHA play!
A ZK rollup-based omni-chain liquidity protocol (think @THORChain) built on EigenLayer with a BIG airdrop coming up! 🪂
🧵👇
1/ This @eigencloud-based ZK rollup will be key infrastructure in a multi-chain future.
It will make cross-chain atomic swaps as easy as calling a smart contract on Ethereum or any other connected chain.
Are you ready for ALPHA anon? 👀
I have a step-by-step guide for you! 👇
2/ Right out of the gates, this protocol will offer features like:
🌟 Gas-free swaps
🌟 MEV-minimization
🌟 Algorithmic buy-and-burn
🌟 Liquidity gauges
🌟 third-party liquidity incentives
3/ How is all of that possible you ask?
Well, this innovative protocol is pioneering an entirely novel rollup architecture that it refers to as the Master-Rollup.
A rollup that’s simultaneously connected to multiple L1s and using @eigencloud as settlement layer.
4/ This allows it to coordinate communication between respective L1s seamlessly.
Efficiency & security are inherited from the rollup architecture itself.
However, improving the decentralization of traditional rollup architecture and upgrading to multi-chain is complex.
5/ This brings me to the solution that this insanely innovative protocol has come up with: RollDowns.
Just as L2 rolls up to L1, L1 needs to roll down to L2.
In the Master-Rollup, they have decided to address this with validity proofs (go the ZK rollup path).
6/ That means that for everything happening on L2, there will be zero-knowledge proof generated and provided to L1 for verification, ensuring that L1 knows that the state on L2 is correct.
7/ However, the master-rollup architecture also needs to do the same in reverse to assure L2 that the state provided by L1 is accurate (the RollDown).
However, computing ZK proof is not practically feasible due to computational overhead & cost.
8/ That's why similar to optimistic rollups, updates from L1 to L2 aren't directly accepted.
They have to wait to be ingested by L2 in a queue for a dispute period.
9/ During this period, any other sequencer can simply cancel this read as false, as they are also aware of the L1 state.
Dispute is later brought back to L1, which decided which party is correct and slashes or rewards accordingly.
10/ Let me summarize the mechanics here:
▶️ Sequencers need to stake on L1.
▶️ Slashed if they post incorrect reads or unnecessary cancellations.
▶️ Each sequencer gets one read right and n cancellation rights, with n being the nr of other sequencers in the active set.
11/ Consequently, even if most sequencers are malicious, one honest sequencer can cancel incorrect reads.
The honest sequencer can then provide proof of misbehavior to L1.
Misbehaving sequencers would be punished, while honest ones would be rewarded.
12/ This improves security by requiring "at least one honest actor" instead of the typical "at least 51%", reducing vulnerability compared to other bridge solutions.
It also enables anyone to become a sequencer by staking funds, enabling decentralized sequencing.
13/ So in summary, think of the Master-Rollup as a L2 solution with a decentralized set of validators/proposers, that is simultaneously sequencing for multiple L1s in parallel.
Ethereum sees it as its own rollup, other EVM network sees it as it’s own rollup too, and so on.
14/ Not all transactions are verified on all rollups, only ones belonging to respective L1s.
Only the proof of correct execution of swap operation is verified by all L1s, with the proof of correct execution being validated by the EigenLayer AVS.
15/ So, in simplified terms, the idea is:
▶️ Deposit ETH into a rollup bridge
▶️ Deposit BNB into a rollup bridge
Both assets’ custody isn’t dependent on any off-chain / L2 actor, it’s secured by the L1 smart contract.
16/ Now pair them into an AMM, where swap logic is secured by @eigencloud restake.
Suddenly you have a cross-chain AMM with native liquidity secured by ETH.
17/ So, essentially, the AMM is the L2 and from the PoV of individual chains, it's simply their own L2.
@eigencloud restakers function as the node operators for the L2.
This speeds up L1-L2 communication & improves the security & decentralization of traditional rollup designs.
18/ Additionally, Master-Rollup structure has the potential to enable cross-chain liquidity for native pairs (that's why I mentioned @Thorchain initially).
This makes the protocol well suited for cross-chain settlement of intent-based protocols like UniswapX & others.
19/ Okay this is absolutely mega-bullish, right?
So what project am I talking about? You guessed it already, anon?
Correct, it's @MangataFinance!
20/ Sick, right? So, how can you get in on it early?
The MGA airdrop has been confirmed. Position yourself now.
And it's easy! 👀👇
21/ Why?
Well, we already know that Mangata X users will be eligible.
@MangataFinance will allocate 0.5% - 3% of MGA supply to be distributed to all holders of MGX!
The more MGX a you hold, the bigger the share of the airdrop pool you will get!
22/ Want to know the best thing?
MGX currently has a market cap of below USD 800K!
Secure a bag now, ride the pump as @eigencloud season kicks off and get one of the potentially biggest EigenLayer ecosystem airdrops.
23/ How do you get your MGX?
Easy.
1️⃣ Go to @binance and buy KSM
2️⃣ Withdraw to @wearetalisman wallet
3️⃣ Deposit on MangataX (by @MangataFinance)
4️⃣ Trade native KSM for native MGX
5️⃣ Done
24/ The snapshot has NOT been taken yet!
@MangataFinance is inviting the community to join the conversation and let’s make the MGA airdrop a memorable event for everyone involved!
Currently, they are considering the following distribution strategies for the airdrop:
25/
▶️ Chain Snapshots: Take snapshots at specific intervals to identify eligible users.
▶️ Point-Based System: Some projects like Blast L2 and Friend(.)Tech use a points-based system
▶️ Burn & mint: There might be a ratio at which users can burn MGX to receive MGA.
That's a wrap for today! I hope you've found this thread helpful! 🫡
