Polygon as Type 1 zkEVM plus CDK plus AggLayer
Thread204 words14 likes
Short thesis that Polygon is converging on Type 1 zkEVM equivalence with faster parallelized provers, a modular CDK and the AggLayer, with zkSVM, zkWASM or zkMove provers likely added later.
Key claims
Polygon stack = Type 1 zkEVM + modular CDK + AggLayer
Additional provers such as zkSVM, zkWASM or zkMove likely to be added
Me reading about @0xPolygon = 馃
Me realizing that they are about to disrupt the market = 馃く
It's in the docs.
It can't be far.
1/ In case you need a reminder:
Type 1 zkEVMs go for full Ethereum equivalence.
These types do not change anything in the Ethereum stack except adding a ZK prover.
They can therefore verify Ethereum & environments that are exactly like Ethereum.
2/ Ultimately, choosing which type of zkEVM to develop involves a trade-off between EVM equivalence & performance.
The challenge this poses for devs who favor exact Ethereum equivalence is to find ingenious designs & clever techniques to implement faster ZK provers.
3/ @VitalikButerin has talked about improving proof generation times to be a mitigation strategy with cleverly engineered, and massively parallelized provers.
It's probably where @0xPolygon is going with this.
4/ Imajin anon.
@0xPolygon = Type 1 zkEVM + Modular CDK + AggLayer
And in the future, additional provers incl. zkSVM, zkWASM or zkMove are likely to be added.
All in one composable & interoperable ecosystem of (app-specific) rollups customized on every layer of the tech stack.
Y'all don't own enough $MATIC
Or $POL
Call it however you want but it's probably the future of france.
