Argues new rollups lack reliable RPC infrastructure, which Lava solves via incentivized public RPC pools. Covers usage stats, funding and LAVA tokenomics with 1B fixed supply, restaking and deflationary mechanics.

Key claims
Testnet served over 25B RPC requests across 30+ networks
Over 300k tokens distributed to node runners on NEAR, Evmos and Axelar
LAVA fixed supply 1B, 6.6% Provider Drops, 15% for future initiatives incl. airdrop
$15M seed plus $11M strategic raise
I spent 100s of hours researching the modular tech stack to identify the problems that the next billion $$$ protocols will solve One rarely talked about issue is data access across execution layers @lavanetxyz solves this and $LAVA (incl. airdrop) is coming soon Alpha-🧵 t.co/5ku1WSozfP 1/ Modular infrastructure like @CelestiaOrg's DA layer is disruptive tech, enabling performant, decentralized networks (rollups). Rollup SDKs & RaaS providers abstract complexity. This in aggregate will lead to a Cambrian explosion of app- & vertical-specific execution layers. 2/ These execution layers enable novel use cases & can overcome the limitations of monolithic systems like Ethereum and the EVM it runs. However, for users to interact with the chains & builders to be able to build apps on them, there needs to be reliable RPC infra (data access) 3/ Don't think too far anon. Literally every main user action in web3 is making an RPC request. ✦ Checking your balance ✦ Sending transaction ✦ Buying NFT ✦ Swapping a token ✦ Deploying smart contract All involves making an RPC request to someone running a node. 4/ The problem is, as a new rollup, no one is running your chain's nodes yet. Certainly not the most reliable, large RPC providers, which you have to pay to support your rollup. And if no one is providing your RPCs, how are people gonna interact and build dapps on your rollup? 5/ That's where @lavanetxyz comes in. Lava is the universal access layer for any blockchain or rollups It allows any rollup to create an incentive pool, attracting & aggregating a network of RPC nodes. Users simply make RPC requests to connect to chains or send transactions. 6/ Lava introduces a novel way for chains to permissionlessly bootstrap and optimize key infra, reducing reliance on centralized infrastructure providers. This is called Incentivized Public RPC and node runners already earn tokens for @NEARProtocol, @EvmosOrg and @axelarnetwork. 7/ So far, over 300k tokens have been distributed worth hundreds of thousands in USD. Millions in $$$ in more incentives will be added soon by chains integrating with @lavanetxyz. 8/ This is a game-changer anon. Decentralized & fully permissionless RPC infra. Rollups no longer have to wait for months or years and pay huge sums to large providers. 9/ With @lavanetxyz, devs don't need to worry about data infrastructure when building on a new chain. They can access all chains in one place, through whatever API, with only a few lines of code. Build whatever. Wherever. x.com/lavanetxyz/status/1750521650435756329 10/ They can automatically send relays to the best available node provider, based on historical performance, latency, uptime and data freshness. They can buy one subscription and customize it with services from all providers, not of just one. 11/ Lava has also designed a novel mechanisms to improve Quality of Service, consistency & cost-efficiency of RPC provision. This ensures faster, more reliable & accurate responses for users. 12/ Okay cool, but who actually uses @lavanetxyz? ✦ Every Rollup and all blockchain devs ✦ Data providers e.g. RPC node runners ✦ Data consumers like dapps or wallets ✦ Users interacting with blockchains Lava is serving a huge market and can accrue significant value. 13/ Already pretty sick, no? Just the beginning though anon. Beyond RPC, @lavanetxyz is able to support a variety of powerful use cases that might be added to the network going forward. This includes shared sequencing, LLM queries, indexing, and light peer-to-peer clients. 14/ If you want to read more, check out the full white paper here! 👇 bit.ly/lava-whitepaper 15/ For an ELI5 in (very) simple terms, check out the thread by @0xNairolf below! 👇 x.com/0xNairolf/status/1781029723490902482 16/ If you prefer to learn from the builders themselves, checkout the deep dive in video form by @therollupco with @xgilxgil! x.com/therollupco/status/1779932781599953026 17/ @lavanetxyz has been building for years and we're already in the final stages of testnet. Mainnet soon. x.com/lavanetxyz/status/1778444377230385575 18/ Since we're talking about a L1 blockchain here, mainnet means token. In 2024, token means airdrop. Airdrop often means points. In @lavanetxyz's case, they are called Magma Points. x.com/lavanetxyz/status/1758543189848510697 19/ The time window to earn points and farm the airdrop is closing. Some time is left though and i compiled a step-by-step guide below! x.com/zerokn0wledge_/status/1787048293387940111 20/ Testnet has been wildly successful, serving over 25B RPC (updated number) requests across 30+ networks. x.com/lavanetxyz/status/1778063454605320212 21/ Almost as impressive as the tech and these stats, is @lavanetxyz's recent funding round $15M. x.com/lavanetxyz/status/1758162588381405563 22/ On top of which the Lava foundation has raised another $11M from industry-leading strategic investors. x.com/lavanetxyz/status/1787879172687503635 23/ Recently, @lavanetxyz also released the tokenomics! $LAVA has a fixed supply (1B) with deflationary mechanisms to attract Providers, including "Provider Drops" which allocate 6.6% of tokens for early participation rewards. x.com/lavanetxyz/status/1783544424313901494 24/ Provider rewards adjust to service demand & as more subscription revenue is generated, reliance on drops decreases. Validator rewards decrease with more $LAVA staked, burning excess rewards/taxes at an 80% stake to control inflation & align interests with network efficiency. 25/ The token serves a number of key functions: ✦ LAVA is used for gas fees on the Lava Network. ✦ Validators stake LAVA for network security and governance. ✦ Providers stake LAVA to increase pairing with consumers. 26/ ✦ Token holders can delegate and restake LAVA. ✦ Initial rewards for providers are paid in LAVA. ✦ Consumers purchase subscriptions with LAVA. ✦ Providers receive monthly rewards in LAVA based on subscription sales 27/ The most exciting features are native restaking and the deflationary mechanism. Also, 15% of supply allocated to future initiatives, which includes an airdrop! 🪂 x.com/lavanetxyz/status/1783876860679491719 28/ As outlined in the beginning of this thread, I'm a thesis-driven investor. This cycle, my main bet is modularity. Within this narrative, I seek exposure to the protocols that address the key pain points. Will definitely keep my eyes on $LAVA. NFA but DYOR anon.
