Move ecosystem map: Aptos, Sui and the next wave of Move L2s
Thread185 words
Maps Move-based execution layers: Aptos and Sui as dominant chains, upcoming L2s and rollup stacks supporting Move. Expects Move to become a major narrative in a full bull cycle; a correction puts TVL at $744M for Sui and $656M for Aptos.
Key claims
Sui TVL $744M (corrected)
Aptos TVL $656M (corrected)
Polygon is working on a ZK prover for Move
The ecosystem of ๐ ๐ผ๐๐ฒ-๐ฏ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฒ๐
๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐น๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ (both L1 & L2) continues to grow.
Today, the dominant chains are:
โ @Aptos with > $1B in TVL
โ @SuiNetwork with > $850M in TVL
Upcoming L2s (programmable execution layers) are:
โ @movementlabsxyz M2 (public testnet)
โ @PontemNetwork (public devnet)
โ @Lyncworld (recent pre-seed raise)
โ +++
There are also ecosystems of interoperable, potentially app- and vertical specific rollups that are either specifically focused on enabling Move chains or support Move-based execution environments:
โ @movementlabsxyz SDK (modular stack for Move L2s)
โ @initiaFDN (interwoven rollup ecosystem)
โ +++
Other players that are building rollup stacks are also working towards Move execution. One example is @0xPolygon which is working on a ZK prover for Move, which will enable MoveVM on Polygon CDK chains.
I see this become a major narrative once we enter a full blown bull cycle.
@Aptos could be the Korean bet, @SuiNetwork has been doing surprisingly well after initial FUD and @movementlabsxyz + @initiaFDN will be key catalysts.
DYOR anon.
โ ๏ธ Correction:
Got TVL numbers wrong on $SUI and $APT:
- $SUI: $744M
- $APT: $656M
