Why token launch format matters less than insider extraction and missing rights

Quote274 words

Argues Lighter was not hurt by airdrop vs ICO but by alleged shady behaviour, and that tokens without shareholder rights, traded on unregistered venues and diluted by insiders won't attract rational TradFi investors.

tbh I dont think so. they did quite well given the market conditions and imo the way you launch the token (esp in this market) is kind of secondary. reason why its not an up only kind of thing (aside the market conditions) is that there was/is some shady shit happening from alleged polymarket odds manipulations to team wallet activity, doubts around allos and so on. what i rly dont understand (aside the financial incentive tied to it all that is obvious) is why this kind of shit always happens. sure i get the "investors and team want/have to make money too" angle and this and that, but if our space is not capable of turning tokens from exit liq for a select few (teams, VCs and MMs) to smth that is actually a gud investment case for a rational investor coming from tradfi, what is the point of all of this? and not related to LIT, but axelar acquisition by circle or the equity vs token issues we've seen with certain major DeFi protocols recently are further evidence to this. bc why would anyone that is not an insider, KOL or "crypto-native" CT bro who lives inside our info bubble buy some equity-like internet fugazi with absolutely 0 legally protected shareholder rights (sometimes even no actual value capture), that is trading 24/7 on shady, unregistered and historically scam-prone exchanges, while you‘re being perpetually diluted and dumped on by insiders? but ig we just have to learn it the hard way over and over, until investing in "digital assets" that are not a tokenized version of regulated financial instruments in tradfi actually makes sense.

Would Lighter have done better as an ICO instead of an airdrop?
