Radius shared sequencing and the Curie encrypted mempool testnet
Quote290 words
Describes Radius as shared sequencing with an encrypted mempool via PVDE, giving rollups decentralization-as-a-service and limited atomic composability, and how the Curie testnet encrypts txs in the browser.
Key claims
Curie flow: users encrypt txs and create proofs in browser, sequencers order encrypted txs, then send order commitments
Order commitments provide fast finality
Why am I excited about modularity? 🧱
@radius_xyz is why! ✨
Modular blockchain design separates a blockchain’s core functions into distinct, interchangeable components.
Within these functional areas, specialized providers arise that jointly facilitate building scalable & secure rollup execution layers.
This enables broad app design flexibility & enhanced adaptability for evolving technological demands.
This specialization also drives innovation and @radius_xyz is a great example of that.
Radius is a shared sequencing layer with an encrypted mempool, enabled by the use of Practical Verifiable Delay Encryption (PVDE).
Radius provides rollups Decentralization-as-a-Service based on its own validator set that runs a leader-election mechanism. This improves liveness & security.
Transactions across all participating rollups are sequenced through Radius. Transactions are encrypted before and during ordering, to effectively address MEV risks.
Another benefit of shared sequencers like Radius, that arises from the fact that transactions from different rollups are ordered into the same blocks, is that it enables (limited) atomic cross-rollup composability.
Now, @radius_xyz has launched the Curie Testnet!
It aims to demonstrate the seamless integration of the encrypted mempool into rollup networks & apps.
A product of advanced cryptography & ZK tech, Radius aims to showcase how the encrypted mempool offers a valuable solution for censorship and MEV resistance.
How it works:
1⃣ Users encrypt txs & create proofs directly in their browsers
2⃣ Sequencers order encrypted txs & create bundles
3⃣ Sequencers send order commitments to the user
To make sure everything is secure & trustless, proofs are verified for encryption integrity.
Importantly, the order commitments ensure fast finality for the user. They also ensure execution in the order determined by the sequencer.
Very excited for this! Congrats to the @radius_xyz team on the testnet launch! Keep building @Hyunxukee, @davidwithbull, @mintymintnina! 🍾🥂
