Celestia is a modular data availability (DA) layer based on the Cosmos SDK & specialized on providing cheap blockspace to rollups. Celestia is not programmable and leverages data availability sampling to scale DA, while retaining end-user verifiability.

Today, Manta is posting data to Ethereum and paying for L1 calldata.
With growing L1 activity fees significantly increase. This negatively impacts rollup UX.
After the successful integration of @CelestiaOrg, Manta will be a modular chain. 🧱
That means instead of unifying all of the blockchains core functions in one monolithic chain, Manta separates:
🚀 Execution (Manta Pacific)
⚙️ Settlement (Ethereum)
🧱 DA / Consensus (Celestia)
More specifically, @MantaNetwork will post transaction data to Celestia's specialized L1 instead of Ethereum.
Only an attestation that the data is available on Celestia is bridged over to Ethereum via Celestia's Blobstream bridge.

It enables the high throughput and 100x cheaper fees previously reserved for alt L1s like Solana within Ethereum security guarantees.
