Profiles EthDA, an Ethereum L2 supporting EIP-4844 blobs, DAS across sequencer subnets, a permissionless sequencer set and permanent blob storage (Blobweave), pitched as undervalued against Celestia's USD 12B FDV.

Key claims
Celestia's FDV is USD 12B while EthDA is valued at only USD 25M
EthDA stores blobs permanently, not purged after about 4 weeks
Sequencers split into N subnets with a grid structure for DAS
Celestia's $12B FDV impressively proves the value of DA layers. What if I told you there is an app-specific ZK rollup... ๐Ÿš€ Valued at only $25M ๐Ÿš€ With decentralized sequencing ๐Ÿš€ Using Danksharding principles ๐Ÿš€ With a live token ...aiming to scale rollup DA? Mega Alpha-๐Ÿงต 1/ DA will be one of the main narratives in 2024 and @CelestiaOrg will lead the way. ๐Ÿš€ However, the space is so early, that many gems are still undiscovered! ๐Ÿ‘€ That means you still have the chance to gain an edge and make life-changing gains! ๐Ÿ’ธ Ready for alpha, anon? ๐Ÿ’Ž 2/ To make your life easier, let me give you a TLDR of 100s of hours of research and one of the gems I have found, deep-diving into the topic of data availability! ๐Ÿ“Š๐Ÿ” 3/ @CelestiaOrg is the first modular data availability (DA) layer. Thanks to its network of data availability sampling (DAS) light nodes, Celestia provides an almost infinitely scalable modular and agnostic layer for rollups to post their transaction data to. ๐Ÿงฑโœจ 4/ DA is the main cost factor for Ethereum-based rollups. Posting data to a modular DA layer is much cheaper than posting it to L1. It's also more decentralized & secure than a centralized data availability committee (DAC) w/o crypto-economic security. x.com/zerokn0wledge_/status/1661794274206445569 5/ The long term solution to the DA dilemma on Ethereum is Danksharding, a form of data sharding, that introduces DAS to the L1. This allows to split the validator set into multiple shards that combined provide more data space to L2s. x.com/zerokn0wledge_/status/1702942883224129985 6/ In the mid-term, the solution is EIP-4844, a.k.a. Proto-Danksharding. EIP-4844 brings a new type of blob-carrying transaction that rollups can use to post tx bundles to L1 in a gas efficient way. It's worked on as part of the Cancun-Deneb upgrade. x.com/zerokn0wledge_/status/1702563747254960414 7/ The protocol I want to introduce to you today, combines these concepts into a novel solution to address the DA limitations rollups are facing on Ethereum (with some add-ons). Enter EthDA by @CrustNetwork! 8/ In a nutshell, EthDA is an Ethereum L2 itself with native blob-carrying transactions support. It's aiming to serve as: ๐Ÿงฑ Modular DA for L2s, which could roll up to EthDA using blob-carrying transactions similarly to how they would roll up to Ethereum L1 today. 9/ ๐Ÿ’พ Decentralized Storage layer for fully-on-chain DApps, or a potential replacement for traditional centralized cloud storage services. 10/ How does it work? ๐Ÿค” โš™๏ธ L2s post compressed transaction data to EthDA via EIP-4844 blob-carrying transactions. โš™๏ธ EthDA employs a DAS scheme to store blobs among a decentralized sequencer network, and posts storage proofs to Ethereum L1. 11/ โš™๏ธ L2s' contracts on layer 1 can then use the storage proofs to check data availability. โš™๏ธ Verifiers can download transaction Blobs from EthDA on demand for fraud proving. 12/ EthDA itself is a rollup and hence relies on a sequencer. While most rollups still run on a centralized sequencer, EthDA will rely on a fully permissionless & decentralized sequencer network. This avoids the risk of a single sequencer censoring or defrauding the network. 13/ A sequencer is responsible for: โ–ถ๏ธ Accepting & ordering user transactions โ–ถ๏ธ Constructing & executing L2 blocks โ–ถ๏ธ Submitting state updates & validity proofs to L1. 14/ In EthDA's permissionless setup, anyone could become a sequencer, given they provide a proof-of-stake. The bond will be slashed if the sequencer behaves maliciously (posting invalid L2 tx to L1). 15/ For every epoch, a sequencer will be randomly selected to: โ–ถ๏ธ Bundle user transactions, โ–ถ๏ธ Execute them in layer 2 zkEVM โ–ถ๏ธ Roll up state update & validity proofs to Ethereum L1 16/ But wait, you said something about DAS, right? ๐Ÿค” Yes, there is also DAS on EthDA! DAS on EthDA is a mirror of DAS on Ethereum (post Danksharding) with one tweak! Blobs on EthDA are permanently stored instead of being purged after a short period of time like 4 weeks. 17/ How does it work? ๐Ÿค” Sequencers are randomly shuffled and split into N subnets. Since a maximal number of 64 blobs might be attached to a block per Danksharding, imagine that N = 64. 18/ Each Blob is published to a subnet based on their index, and that subnet will be responsible for storing theBlob and ensuring its availability as a whole. Each sequencer node, however, does not need to store the whole Blob assigned to the subnet it belongs to. 19/ Instead, a Blob is split into multiple slices and sequencers will randomly sample each other to make sure the Blob is stored by the whole subnet. The whole subnet architecture is a grid structure of N horizontal subnets and M vertical subnets. 20/ Where does the storage feature fit in? ๐Ÿค” DApps can use EthDA's dStorage infrastructure & toolset to store websites & user-generated data, enabling dApps to go fully-on-chain & achieve improved censorship-resistant. 21/ To support Blob permanent storage by the sequencer network, EthDA uses a scheme called Blobweave similar to @ArweaveEco's Blockweave. The permanent storage guarantees are a unique feature compared to other DA solutions, where historical data storage is up to the rollups. 22/ So in conclusion: ๐ŸŒŸ EthDA is a L2 secured by ETH L1 with a permissionless & decentralized sequencer set. ๐ŸŒŸ EthDA leverages DAS for blob sharding & permanent storage. ๐ŸŒŸ EthDA supports EIP-4844 blob-carrying txs, serving as DA layer for L2s & dStorage network for DApps. 23/ Definitely a very interesting one to keep an eye on as the L2 ecosystem continues to grow and the demand for DA continues to rise. Could be highly undervalued if @CrustNetwork delivers the full potential of this idea! ๐Ÿš€ Tagging some chads you should definitely follow! ๐Ÿซก ๐Ÿ‘‡ @ShivanshuMadan @0xDinoEggs @modularmedia_ @therollupco @alice_und_bob @Louround_ @0xSalazar @andyyy @0xDinoEggs @WinterSoldierxz @poopmandefi @hmalviya9 @thesaint_ @0xSalazar And some more! ๐Ÿซก๐Ÿ‘‡ @CJCJCJCJ_ @francescoweb3 @Hercules_Defi @0xJermo @andrewmoh @splinter0n @wacy_time1 @DefiIgnas @2lambro @CryptoMaestro I hope you've found this thread helpful! ๐Ÿซก Don't fade, anon (NFA)... ๐Ÿ‘€ Like/Repost of the below post is also highly appreciated! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ‘‡
