💡 What is EigenLayer?
@eigencloud is a general-purpose layer for programmable trust. Eigenlayer will be the most significant launch since Ethereum. Bitcoin pioneered decentralized trust. Ethereum generalized that concept of a decentralized trust network and made it programmable. However, the degree of programmability that the EVM provides is limited. That’s why we need Eigenlayer that completely generalizes the Ethereum trust layer and allows anyone to bootstrap a decentralized network on top of it that can run arbitrary programs, not constrained by the limitations of the Ethereum base layer or the EVM.
💡 What are AVS?
Actively Validated Services are decentralized networks bootstrapped on top of @eigencloud's programmable trust layer. They are secured by a subset of Ethereum validators and a crypto-economic security layer fueled by restaked assets. AVS can basically be anything and often serve the purpose of middleware / modular infrastructure. On top of this infrastructure secured by Ethereum's trust layer (e.g. @eigenDA), we can continue to build and design powerful execution layers (like @0xMantle).
💡 What is Liquid Restaking?
Restaking provides the crypto-economic fuel (aside native restaking) that @eigencloud needs to allow anyone to bootstrap a decentralized network on top of its infrastructure. Liquid restaking protocols abstract complexity in the process for the end user and enable users to maintain position liquidity through the issuance of Liquid Restaking Tokens (LRT). These protocols also give rise to an entirely new sub-sector of DeFi, a.k.a. LRTfi. Within this space, @vectorreserve is an example of a project that is innovating at the frontier. Building a LRT LPD and a powerful LRT liquidity layer that will eventually channels billions in LRT liquidity across the ecosystem, it is emerging as a powerhouse of the LRT ecosystem powered by @eigencloud.
