Chain abstraction market map: >100 projects and Particle's three components

Quote306 words

Comments on The Rollup's chain abstraction map and notes over 100 teams build towards it. Explains Particle's universal accounts, liquidity and gas as an account-based fix for multichain UX friction.

More than 100 projects are building chain abstraction technology
About 160 L2s and L3s live or coming per L2BEAT
This landscape overview by @therollupco is the most comprehensive chain abstraction market map you will find on CT. However, as @andyyy mentioned in a recent follow-up (linked in comments), there are many many more teams building towards a chain-abstracted UX. In total >100 projects are building technology to overcome the UX complexity that plagues crypto today. While the layers of the stack on which they operate and the approach they take to solve the problem differ, it's no coincidence that this amount of VC money and brainpower is concentrated on CA. Crypto today is cool (if you are a native). But crypto today is far from reaching mass adoption. None of my normie friends wants to manage 10 different wallets on 20 different chains. None of my normie friends wants to bridge across 160 chains (just the amount of L2s and L3s live or coming up on @l2beat). None of my normie friends want to sign messages they don't understand three times before their shitcoin trade goes through. The solution to all of this lies in the chain abstraction space. @ParticleNtwrk for example is an account-based solution, allowing users to interact with any app, on any chain, with a single balance. Specifically, Particle enables a few interesting components: ☞ Universal Accounts that simplify the management of token balances by providing a single interface for transactions across multiple blockchain networks. ☞ Universal Liquidity that enables seamless transaction execution without the need for native tokens on each chain, by facilitating automatic liquidity routing. ☞ Universal Gas which allows users to pay transaction fees (gas) with any token they possess, eliminating the requirement to obtain specific tokens for gas payments. If you're already part of these conversations today, you're probably early. Don't fuck it up. DYOR.
