"Monad vs. MegaETH" will be quite interesting to watch unfold.
Not just bc they are both taking unique and innovative approaches to scale the EVM, but also because they have been two of the most hyped launches of this cycle for a while now, and because they are both (want to) stand for a community-centric approach.
But while @monad focuses on a broad airdrop, trying to give active users and influential voices from all across crypto skin in the game and rewarding the core community built over the years, @megaeth bets on community investment.
Through their Echo sale, the Fluffles round and now the upcoming Sonar sale, MegaETH gives many people the chance to get in early and at favourable valuations without just giving out tokens for free.
I think both ecosystems have some interesting projects lining up and both definitely have what I would call "strong communities" with noticeable hype. But we also know how tough the market can be for new launches, especially the high FDV ones..
Will def be interesting to see how the two chains and their ecosystems develop, if we will actually see novel apps and use cases, and whether the community hype pre-TGE translates into actual adoption. But I'm also curious to see how the launches play out on the charts, and if MegaETH with sales instead of airdrops sets a precedent that could mark the end of the airdrop narrative.
What do you think?
