Method behind the 10-model HYPE forecast experiment
Quote168 words
Explains the setup: Grok 4.3 ran two rounds of live search to produce one shared brief, then ten models wrote theses off the same data, so the spread reflects judgment rather than search quality. Round 2 gives each model its own agentic search.
Key claims
Identical settings: temperature 0.6, 9k max tokens
One shared brief including a ~97% fee-to-buyback flywheel
Next runs: round 2 for HYPE and a SpaceX version
How this ran, for the process nerds:
All 10 models went through @OpenRouter on identical settings. Same prompt, same temperature (0.6), same token budget (9k max tokens), and no per-model handholding.
The key choice: They did not each go research. One model (aka @grok 4.3) ran 2 rounds of live web search and distilled a single shared brief. Incl. price, fees, the ~97% fee-to-buyback flywheel, unlock cadence and the full catalyst stack. All 10 models then wrote their thesis off that exact same brief.
Holding the data constant means the only variable left is judgment. So the spread isn't who searched better, it's 10 models disagreeing on what the same facts mean. That was the whole point of this experiment here.
Next up for the same thing? $SPCX.
And round 2 for hyperliquid:native is already built too: Each model will do its own 3-round web search in agentic mode. That will give us research quality vs reasoning quality, side by side (will also run both for SpaceX btw).
